I’m parched

The warmth of the summer continues as August brings more hot temperatures, clear skies and not many opportunities to unfurl our umbrellas (except perhaps to use for shade!). These prolonged dry temperatures are now very noticeable in our local green, or more accurately yellow, spaces.

Wardening around

Panshanger Park has been looking lovely (albeit a little dry) in the recent summer sunshine. The dragonflies and damselflies have been out in force along with many newly fledged birds. The long horn cattle are lazily swishing their tails in the heat whilst visitors to the park may well be seeking out the shade.

Butterflies flutter by

It feels like Spring is well and truly here. At Panshanger Park the trees are a wonderful vibrant green, with even the late starters such as the Ash now bursting forth their leaves. The birds have been singing very enthusiastically and soon we’ll be seeing fledglings emerging to take their first flights.

Hooray for Spring

After a somewhat hesitant start to Spring, it feels like we might be just about there. The lighter evenings and milder temperatures make for a lovely time of year to go outdoor and explore your local green space.

What’s that I hear?

The days are noticeably longer, the sun has been shining and there’s even been a bit of warmth around that has got us considering unzipping our winter coats. Spring is just around the corner!
