Tarmac, in partnership with the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust and Maydencroft, will be hosting an evening of talks and discussions to celebrate the diverse wildlife and habitats of Panshanger Park. Taking place on Thursday, 6 February 2025, at The Sele School in Hertford, the event will provide an in-depth look at the park’s conservation efforts and highlight opportunities for the community to get involved.
The evening will feature insights from conservation experts, covering topics such as wildlife monitoring, river restoration, and habitat enhancement. Attendees will also have the chance to learn about fascinating species, including the park’s unique spider population, and hear about the important work being undertaken to preserve and improve this cherished local environment.
The event begins at 6:30 PM, with talks running until 9:30 PM. Refreshments will be provided, and there is no need to book, just turn up on the day. Parking is available at the school, with clear signage guiding attendees to the event space.
Michael Charlton, Estates Manager at Tarmac, will present an update on the stewardship efforts at Panshanger Park.
Speaking ahead of the event, Michael said: “Panshanger Park is a unique and inspiring place. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made in enhancing its habitats, and this event is an opportunity to celebrate these achievements while encouraging the community to play an active role in its future. Together, we can ensure the park remains a thriving space for both wildlife and people.”
