The Tarmac team enjoyed meeting members of the community and engaging in lots of fun activities at the 131st Hertfordshire County Show, held at The Showground in Redbourn on the 27th and 28th of May.
As a key sponsor, Tarmac hosted a stand offering a range of fun activities including face painting and a lego competition.
Families also got the chance to sit in one of our trucks and learn more about cycle safety.
Children were tasked with building a Lego model of Panshanger Park. Some fantastic entries were received, with the winning model built by six-year-old Tommy Lines who recreated the famous Panshanger Oak. Tommy received a large Lego creative brick box as his prize. Rangers from the Panshanger Park Forest School were on hand for people to drop in and find out more about the popular initiative. The school, which is a Tarmac initiative delivered in partnership with Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust, opened in February 2015 and offers outdoor learning programmes designed to build children’s skills and confidence of working and playing in the natural environment. It offers six-week courses for schools, with lessons that feed into the national curriculum.

Events like this bring everyone together and celebrate the best of this fantastic county.”
