Hertfordshire County Show Lego competition

Lots of fun was had over the May bank holiday at this year’s Hertfordshire County Show. Along with face-painting and Forest School activities there was also a LEGO competition inspired by Panshanger Park. There were lots of imaginative creations including a propeller plane and an amphibious truck.

Plea to help preserve spring bluebells at Panshanger Park

Tarmac and Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust are asking visitors to Panshanger Park to take care when walking in Lady Hughes’ Wood, In order to protect the carpet of bluebells in the wood, which blooms each spring, walkers are requested to stay on the main path.

Renewed plea to dog owners as sheep return to Panshanger Park

This week, Panshanger’s flock of sheep have been returned to the park to graze. Keeping sheep in the park helps keep the grass in good condition, reduces the need for mowing and encourages botanical diversity by removing fast growing plant species that would otherwise out compete smaller, finer flowers.
