Panshanger Park was at the hub of conservation and political planning when Environment Minister Rebecca Pow visited the park following the launch of the government’s new strategy to protect the nation’s chalk streams at the nearby Tewinbury Nature Reserve.

Panshanger Park, the Tarmac-owned former quarry and now popular country park and nature reserve, boasts more than 800 ‘veteran’ trees that are, in-turn, home to hundreds of species of wildlife ranging from microscopic insects to animals, like bats and birds.

The weather is still fairly mild at the moment and we’ve yet to really see any frosts this season, but at Panshanger Park there are other indications that we are moving towards winter.

Panshanger Park played a major role in a missing person rescue operation which saw the Midshires Search and Rescue services scouring the Hertfordshire beauty spot.

Autumn is well and truly here. Time to embrace the jumpers and scarves and enjoy the wonderful colours that nature treats us to at this time of year.
