On Thursday 5 March 2026, Panshanger Park will be hosting ‘The Nature of Panshanger Park 2026’ event, an evening dedicated to celebrating the park’s remarkable biodiversity and ongoing nature recovery work.
Taking place from 6:00pm to 9:30pm at Welwyn Civic Centre, the free event will showcase the rich wildlife and habitats of Panshanger Park, alongside the collaborative efforts helping to protect and enhance this important landscape for future generations.
The evening will feature a programme of expert-led talks covering a wide range of topics, including species recording and monitoring, dragonflies, rare plants, veteran trees and large-scale nature recovery. Speakers include specialists from Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust, the Herts Environmental Records Centre, Freshwater Habitats Trust, Maydencroft and Tarmac, each bringing unique insight into the science, management and community value of the park.
Guests will also have the opportunity to explore a photographic exhibition by local photographer Allan Burrows, capturing the beauty and wildlife of Panshanger Park throughout the seasons. Updates on volunteering and community engagement will highlight how people can get involved and play a role in supporting nature on their doorstep.
The event is hosted by Tarmac as part of its ongoing community engagement programme at Panshanger Park.
Michael Charlton, Estates Manager at Tarmac, said: “Panshanger Park is a unique place for wildlife and people alike. By working with conservation partners, specialists and the local community, we are continuing to protect its special habitats while creating opportunities for nature to thrive and for people to connect with the landscape. This evening is a chance to share that journey and celebrate what we are achieving together.”
