MOVE Week comes to Panshanger Park

On Sunday 4th of June, Panshanger Park is hosting free walks, sports and lots more fun to encourage all the family to get active and celebrate MOVE Week 2017.

Forest School welcomes 1000th pupil

In March the Panshanger Park Forest School welcomed its 1000th pupil. This exciting milestone comes just two years after the school opened.

Plea to help preserve spring bluebells at Panshanger Park

Tarmac and Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust are asking visitors to Panshanger Park to take care when walking in Lady Hughes’ Wood, In order to protect the carpet of bluebells in the wood, which blooms each spring, walkers are requested to stay on the main path.

Woodland glade restored at Panshanger Park

A glade in the Chisel Shelf woodland area of Panshanger Park has been restored to create new habitat for wildlife and to open up a stunning view over the historic Repton landscape.

Panshanger Park partnership recognised at High Sherriff Awards

Tarmac, Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust and the Herts Natural History Society have won a prestigious Hertfordshire High Sherriff Award for their successful working partnership at Panshanger Park, receiving the ‘Highly Commended Award for a Voluntary-Private Sector Partnership’.

Science-fiction filming at Panshanger Park

Last month, a group of film students from the University of Hertfordshire filmed scenes for ‘Nomad’, a dark science-fiction short film,at Panshanger Park. The film, which will be a deciding factor in the students’ final degree grade, tells the story of 3 astronauts who must set up a colony on a distant planet to save humanity from extinction.

Renewed plea to dog owners as sheep return to Panshanger Park

This week, Panshanger’s flock of sheep have been returned to the park to graze. Keeping sheep in the park helps keep the grass in good condition, reduces the need for mowing and encourages botanical diversity by removing fast growing plant species that would otherwise out compete smaller, finer flowers.

Half term fun as Panshanger Park

This February half term saw three fantastic family-friendly events held in Panshanger Park, run by Tarmac and Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust.
