Panshanger Park to host 2025 Welwyn 10k

June 16, 2025

Tarmac’s Panshanger Park will once again sponsor and host the Welwyn 10k on Sunday 22 June 2025. The event, organised by Garden City Runners, returns for a third consecutive year and will follow a single-lap, 10km route through the park’s historic and natural features. A shorter 2km family fun run will also take place.

The incredibly scenic off-road course includes views of the Mimram River, the 500-year-old Great Oak, Queen’s Wood – planted in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II – and the remains of the original Orangery.

Entries are now open, with an entry fee of £20. Affiliated runners are eligible for discounted entry. All finishers will receive a sustainable wooden medal and a digital certificate. The Panshanger Park team has made arrangements to support event logistics and site access throughout the day. Tarmac mascots, Tar and Mac, will be on hand to assist with the starting of the races.

Michael Charlton, Estate Manager at Panshanger Park, said: “We are pleased to welcome the Welwyn 10k back to Panshanger Park. The event makes good use of the established trail network and highlights some of the most significant features of the park, both ecologically and historically.”

A spokesperson for Welwyn 10k, added: ‘We’re delighted to be returning to Panshanger Park for the Welwyn 10K race, and thank Tarmac, not only for their support and generous sponsorship, but for allowing us to run through some of the most beautiful countryside in Hertfordshire”.
