New car park opening at Panshanger Park

September 19, 2025

A new visitor car park at Panshanger Park will be opening on Saturday 11th October. The facility is located off Panshanger Lane (postcode SG14 2TS, What3Words: cult.term.bake) and will be open for entry between 8am and 5pm daily.

To mark the opening, a programme of activities will take place on the Saturday, including tractor trailer rides, kids activities, and an information stand.

The car park has been developed with a focus on sustainability. Facilities include eco-friendly toilets requiring no water, electricity, or chemicals, as well as a seating area and bike racks. Local business Planted Coffee will also be relocating to the new site.

Car park management will be overseen by Euro Carparks through an ANPR system. Payment can be made at the ticket machine or via mobile providers including ECP Park Buddy, RingGo, and PayByPhone. Charges will begin on Monday 13th October, following a free opening weekend, and are set at £1.50 for up to 1 hour, £2.50 for up to 4 hours, and £4.00 for up to 24 hours.

Michael Charlton, Estates Manager at Tarmac, said: “The new car park is an important improvement in visitor facilities at Panshanger Park, ensuring that access and amenities are provided in a way that complements the park’s character and long-term sustainability.”

More information about the grand opening event will follow.

Please note: standard parking charges will apply to all users of the car park, including those using designated accessible spaces. Thieves Lane car park will remain open, however from the 1st November an ANPR system will be installed and management will be transferred to Euro Carparks.
